Roderick Chia represented the Centre at the conference “Reporting Political Change in Asia and the Middle East”, in Singapore on 19-20 April 2012, organised by the Nanyang Technological University where the role of ordinary citizens in political change and media reportage was the focus.

Regional Workshops on Democracy and Law

Dr James Gomez will be representing the Centre at the upcoming “Regional workshop: Monitoring and Assessing Democracies in Asia” on 16 May 2012 in Gwang-Ju, South Korea. The meeting is part of the 2012 Gwangju Asia Forum organized by the 18 Memorial Foundation.

Doctoral Researcher to Intern at Centre

Gillian Rollason, a doctoral student of International Relations at Swansea University, will join the Centre as an Intern in May 2012. She was selected from the several applicants who responded to the Intern call put out in early April 2012. Gillian will be working in the area of academic course design and undertaking research on ongoing projects.

On 26 March 2012, Dr. Gomez conducted a half-day workshop on “Monitoring and Evaluation for Overseas Development Assistance (ODA)”. The training session was for delegates from the Department of Development Financing and Cooperation, Ministry of Finance, Mongolia.
